To Our Dear Readers

Dear Geraniums on a Wall readers,

As you may have noticed, the postings on this blog have become rather sporadic. Our life these last months has been a little busier (and let's face it, I have to take a nap everyday or else I get tired and that's my main time to blog!). I foresee that life will only get busier with the addition of another child. And I am trying to simplify some things in my life.

So, I am taking an indefinite break from blogging. I may or may not return!

You can still keep in touch with our family! I realize that most of the people that I know read this blog also have Facebook so I will be doing more picture and video updating on Facebook than I have in the past. After all, don't most of you want to see pictures and videos of our family and our darling daughter and soon-to-arrive son?

Thanks for faithfully reading our blog!

Videos from June 2010

A few videos from June...

Elena was a bit scared when we took her through the car wash for the first time in her life!

Spending time cooling off in the pool at Abuelo and Abuela's house...

Our family weekend trip to Hume Lake included some duck feeding...

...and some fun times with family. Here are Elena and Nathan:

Elena sings all the time! But every time I pull out the video camera she stops and immediately wants to see herself. I have discovered that if she sings in the car, I can hide behind my seat and capture her singing. Really, if this girl doesn't grow up enjoying music I'll wonder why. She sings ALL THE TIME!

Traveling to Fresno and helping second cousin Nathan celebrate his 1st Birthday...

A trip to Hume Lake for the annual Koop family weekend get-together...

And a fondue party for my 29th birthday...

It's a BOY!

A few days after my birthday I received one of the best gifts yet! We went to the doctor's office for the big ultrasound. After the technician spent about 20 minutes checking for all the organs and doing measurements we were then able to bring in Elena and Michael's mom for the big reveal of the day...baby H's gender!

And yes, folks, as the title indicates...

...HE'S A BOY!

Here's picture proof for those of you that are good at interpreting sonograms. For those of you that aren't, there is an arrow. :)

We are thrilled to be having a baby, first of all. And just as thrilled to be having a baby boy. In the end, we wanted a healthy baby, no matter the gender but we are quite happy about the fact that Elena will have a little brother.

I just passed the 20 week mark last Thursday so I am halfway there. Coming up soon, 20 week belly pictures!

Fantastic Fathers

Happy Father's Day!

Not only do I have a Fantastic Father...

This picture has really has nothing to do with Father's Day except to mention that my Dad snapped this picture of me when I was learning to ride my bike. Only a Father would take a picture of his crying daughter and then go console her! (Really, Dad, thanks for capturing this - I am glad I can ride a bike now without running into huge pieces of concrete)

...but I also married a guy who has a Fantastic Father (and is now my Fantastic Father-in-Law)...

...And then to top it off the guy I married has turned out to be a Fantastic Father himself (I wouldn't have married him if I didn't see the potential!)

To these wonderful fathers...Happy Father's Day!

Hello Baby

You are loved!

Today marks the 17th week of my pregnancy and I'm feeling better and better everyday. I am starting to feel little flutters in my belly and I think that's you moving around in there. I am looking forward to the big kicks and arm pokes I'll be getting by the end of this pregnancy.

16 weeks

Although it has been a relatively easy pregnancy (I have been SO tired, though!) I am ready to meet you. Unfortunately, that will have to wait for about 5 more months. We love you so much already and look forward to the end of November (or early December) when we get to meet you. After having your big sister Elena I know how much love a parent can have for a child. We have so much to look forward with you.

She really does love you - she's not trying to get rid of you!

Speaking of your big sister, Elena. She knows that there is a baby in mommy's belly and whenever we show the picture of an ultrasound she knows its a baby. We think she'll be a fabulous big sister because she loves babies. She enjoys playing with babies and she loves real babies, too. Elena's friend Rockford just had a baby brother and Elena loves going to see "Baby Rocco" and talks about him all the time. I'm sure she'll love you even more once you get here.

Meanwhile, we pray that you will keep growing and I'll keep taking care of myself. We should be able to see you again in a few weeks and then we'll find out if you are a boy or a girl. Oh, the excitement is building!

Lovingly,

Your Mama
