"Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways."
Haggai 1:7
Haggai 1:7
I have always wanted to be one of those people that writes in a journal regularly. But it's just never happened. I've decided that writing sporadically is okay so I just write whenever I have something to write.
Before taking some time to read my Bible today I read through some of the pages of my journal. I usually write about what God is doing in my life, Scripture that was especially meaningful or written prayers.
I was encouraged and empowered today as I read through some of the entries. Encouraged, because I could see some of my previous struggles and how God is guiding me through and I am learning through the process. Empowered, because entry after entry I still see that I am in need of Jesus. I felt a surge of power as I read because I realized that I can't accomplish anything on my own - I can only do things because of God's strength in me.
I read through one entry that talked about the importance of "considering our ways". It's all about the importance of stopping and looking back. Where are we? Where are we headed? That's why I like journals. It's encouraging to see the progress and at the same time we are empowered to press on and keep working on the areas of our lives that need a little extra help (I've got plenty of those!)
I leave you now so you can go "consider your ways" - I've got some ironing to do!

Bella,
I think the way you journal is great! I tried to do it every day, but I can only feel I fill the pages with quality thought when the inspiration comes...quality before quantity, I'd say:)
Thank you for sharing these thoughts...great inspiration for me to consider my ways:) It is indeed so encouraging to know that we serve and have the Almighty Lord on our side and that only through the strength that comes from Jesus can we accomplish anything worth while. Happy afternoon!
=)
