Back from Beautiful, British Columbia

On some of the license plates in British Columbia in Canada it says "Beautiful British Columbia" and when they say that they aren't kidding! We had an absolutely wonderful time in Canada and the scenery on Vancouver Island was beautiful too. As I said before, the people were really nice too and that just added to the beauty. We'd love to see more of Canada someday but for now we'll enjoy San Diego!

Since the main motive of our trip was so that Michael could go to a conference, we didn't get a whole lot of time to sight see together. On the first day we were there I came down with a stomach virus and was not feeling so great so we just stayed at the hotel. By afternoon time, I was dying to get out and see something so we went out for a little adventure. Michael had done some research and heard about a lighthouse that was relatively close so we decided to drive there and see what it was all about. We love lighthouses (they are quite picturesque, aren't they?) so we jumped at the opportunity.

A few pictures from our time at the Fisgard Lighthouse

The next day Michael was busy during most of the day so I took a walk around Victoria and then in the afternoon we went to the Craigdarroch Castle, which was a few blocks from where we were staying. It was beautiful and we had a very nice tour of the house (it's more of a big house than it is a castle).

Having fun at Craigdarroch Castle (below)

There were some beautiful stained glass windows

On day three I had to keep myself busy because Michael was busy most of the day. I knew I could not leave Victoria without seeing the world-famous Butchart Gardens once again. I had been there once before when I was younger and remembered how beautiful it was, even back then. I figured that now I would appreciate it even more (since I'm a mature adult!) I'll leave you with one picture to give you a sneak peak. I took over two-hundred pictures in two hours. So many beautiful flowers, arrangements and breath-taking views. If you ever go to Victoria, B.C. you MUST make a visit. You won't leave regretting it.

If you would like to see more pictures of our time in Victoria, click here. Things have been a little busy since we got back so I haven't had a chance to update until now. We've had birthday celebrations, church events and well, you know...life!

Thanks for coming along with us on our trip!
