A Spanish-Themed Weekend

It's Monday night and we are having a quiet night at home. It seems as though most nights of the week are spent out and about - Bible studies, date night, dinners with friends - it's so nice to just be home some nights.

We had a very eventful, fun weekend. The best part by far was hanging out with our Spanish friends Sergio and Kendra at their home. They live about two hours from here so we don't get to see them very often, but when we do, it is always great.

As MK's we always enjoy hanging out with people that have been to Spain or are Spanish! We are thankful for friends like Sergio and Kendra. We miss Spain, but hanging out with them is definitely a taste of home for which we are very glad!

In the morning we went with them to La EspaƱola and bought a few things and then had a delicious paella meal together. As you can see, we had an extra person that jumped into our group photo. Quite an interesting lady, I might add.

After spending the afternoon together we started cooking our next meal. We worked on quite the spread of tapas for our evening meal. Sergio was born and raised in Spain so he has learned how to make many Spanish meals. We all got into the kitchen and whipped up a pretty delicious meal. It included:

A tomato cucumber salad

An olive oil and balsamic vinegar bread dip

Some delicious Spanish cheese

A dash of silliness

Ever-so-good croquetas

Olives

And the most delicious Spanish tortilla

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and we had to wrap things up and head home. We thank God for days like those that make life all the sweeter and more enjoyable!

What a blessing to have such friends and such a great taste of home! Yummy foods I must say:) Looking at the pictures and reading your lines makes me a bit melancholic about Romania and the yummy foods we have, too...I do know that the Spanish tortilla is absolutely delicious as I had the privilege to taste it back in college when chef Ann made it for me:) Thank you:)

What a beautiful Lord we serve and how great are his blessings and grace! He is so good to us to give us earthly joys and the opportunities to enjoy them in fellowship:)
