We are truly overjoyed. This summer our lives will, most likely, change completely as we add a new member to our household!
Yes, you heard right!
We are expecting our very own baby around mid-July. We have known for a few months now but decided to only tell close family and friends at first. Now it's time to tell the world! Last Thanksgiving was very special as we were able to tell our family members and give them one more reason to be thankful. Life has changed in so many ways and in so many ways it's just still the same.
Right after we found out we began to think of names that we could call our baby until it was born and we gave it its real name. Michael came up with the name Sea Monkey. Yes, it's quite an amusing little name and it seems to have stuck. Other people have tried to give our child other names but we're sticking with Sea Monkey for now. Sea Monkey is now supposedly the size of a lime - about two inches long.
So yes, Sea Monkey has been the reason for our silence lately. It's weird how it all happened because a few weeks after I wrote the very last blog post in early November is when we found out that we were expecting. I felt rather blah and unmotivated the first weeks so I am thinking that is why I took a little blogging break. I never intended to take a break. It just happened!
I have been feeling much better the last month and have felt a little more motivated to do things. I have had many of the regular side effects of pregnancy but none so bad that I can complain. My feelings of nausea come and go and seem to be fading slowly. I haven't been overly tired, but midday naps do feel good and getting to bed early is always a good idea now. The one thing that has affected me a bit more has been my food cravings/aversions. I can't say that I am enjoying food the way I used to but it's all part of the deal so we take it a day at a time and enjoy this stage we're in! I made Michael drive me to Burger King the other night because I was craving a burger so badly. He complied but I'm sure he'll be glad when I get back to my normal eating habits!
Plans are already being made in our head for the room, names and what our lives will be like come July. And yet, we know that every part of this baby's life is in God's hands and we rest in knowing that He will show us what is best for our baby.
We pray often that Sea Monkey will grow up to love God. That is our biggest desire. As long as he/she loves God our wish will come true! When you think of us and Sea Monkey, pray that for us and that even now we will learn what it means to raise a Godly child!
I hope to update the blog more regularly from now on.
With all our love,
Michael, Ann and Baby Sea Monkey

I can't wait to meet little seamonkey. Or "precious baby cousin" as Grace calls him/her. :)
It is such an exciting time!
That's awesome. Congrats on theis new season in your life. Nothing better than kids!
Hey if you really want to call your baby sea monkey, you could choose Lamar Dorman or Rosemary Fauna! (those names translate as "sea" and "animal". Apparently, at www.babynamesworld.com there is no matching name with the meaning of monkey!) Hehe! Just jokes. Enjoy the name picking process. It's fun!
Congrats again.
Wishing you a healthy pregnancy
