Yes! We have finally arrived at the halfway mark. That means that there are still (probably) 20 more weeks to go until we can meet Sea Monkey. The anticipation is building and we are starting to sit down and plan things a little more (but still not too much!) Yes, I am a planner. I love to plan. Planning, planning, planning! But its hard to "plan" when you don't really know what you're doing! So many baby products out there to choose from. My mom enlisted the help of a friend and asked her to give us a list of baby products or recommendations that she has for a new mom like me. I do not know what I would do without the advice of the people around me. All these ladies have so much wisdom so I am looking forward to gleaning more during the next months. It was so good to visit Roxy in Michigan and to learn from her also what it will be like to actually have the baby and have to take care of Sea Monkey on a daily basis.
This second trimester has been great, just as they said it would be. I still take occasional naps, but definitely feel energized. I am now able to eat virtually anything. No cravings. Well, other than Haagen Dazs Vanilla Bean ice cream! Michael and I have enjoyed having it every once in a while.
Sea Monkey is growing and is now as long as a banana, apparently. At 20 weeks, the baby is now measured in a new way. Up until 20 weeks, babies are measured from head to rump. Now, Sea Monkey is measured from head to toe. Little Sea Monkey is supposedly around 10 inches long. We got a ruler out the other day and looked at it and couldn't believe that our little kid was that long already. There are 20 more weeks of growth in which Sea Monkey will double in length and gain lots more weight!
The talk of baby showers is starting so we are setting dates and planning a little here and there. I love the idea of having showers after the baby is born so that people can actually see the kid! I think it works especially well when it involves people that live farther away. So, we shall see how it all turns out. We've still got 20 weeks to go!
One thing I have noticed is that my back is definitely feeling the effects of Sea Monkey. I am starting the pregnant lady waddle at times, just because it helps my back. It must be a funny sight to see. Some days are better than others so I have to learn to take it easy.
Another prenantal visit is scheduled for this Thursday. An ultrasound is also scheduled but we are going to try and get it moved so that my mom can be here for it. At the ultrasound we will be able to find out what Sea Monkey is - baby girl or baby boy? The more we have talked about it, the more Michael has told me that its up to me. So...what do you think I'd choose?
We will probably find out!
What do you think Sea Monkey will be? A sweet girl? A handsome boy? Cast your votes! :)

OKay, I am going for I hope it is a girl so I can off load a bunch of my girl stuff, but I kinda am thinking boy. But then again, I pretty much always think people are having boys (except for Ezequiel, who I was sure was a girl). I can't wait to meet "precious baby cousin"
My guess is a girl. I can sense it! ;) Thanks for keeping up with new pictures. These new ones are way cute! I can't wait to see you in 2 months with your beautiful belly! :)
Hmmm. . . I think it will be a precious little girl. She could play with her cousin Grace.
Great to see the pics you put in. 20 weeks will go by fast!
I think that it is going to be a girl...just because of my selfish wish for a friend for Tess and then, maybe because there are girls on both your side and Michael's, but whatever will be he/she will be beautiful and perfect! As long as mommy and baby are well and healthy, that is all that matters:)
You look so good! Uhmmm, icecream sounds good right now:)
Sea Monkey, I can't wait to meet you! =)
