Visit to Michigan

Last week I filled my suitcases with sweaters, gloves, scarves and warm socks and got ready to head off to Michigan! After a rather uneventful flight, I arrived late at night in Detroit and was greeted by Roxy and her smile. Out in the car were waiting Roxy's husband and their three month-old daughter, Tessa.

After a good nights rest, I awoke the next day and got to meet little Tessa for the first time. What a cutie! I had plenty of opportunities to take pictures of her and I'll post some of those at the end. Roxy has adjusted to a pretty good routine with Tessa, so I got to be a part of daily feedings, naptimes, diaper changing and all those fun baby things.

Don't worry - Roxy did feed me while I was there!

I also got to spend lots of fun time with Roxy. Obviously, a big part of our time was spent catching up on the last years and seeing what their life is all about now that they live in Michigan. On Sunday they took me to church with them, on Monday we enjoyed a quick stroll through town and ate at Panera Bread, and on Tuesday we went and visited the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house. Edsel was the son on Henry Ford - from the Ford Motor Companies.

It was a relatively quick trip and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It gave me a glimpse in to Roxy's life and I also learned many new tips on taking care of baby! I want to glean knowledge from mothers like Roxy who have advice to give. I look forward to the day when Roxy will live a little closer, but for now I am thankful for planes!

Here are a few pictures of Tessa and Mama Roxy...
