29 Weeks

It's been a while since I've posted some good ol' belly pics. Seems life has gotten busy these days! As I was looking over pictures from pregnancy, it was fun to see how my belly has progressed and how Baby Girl is growing a little more each day.

I can definitely feel that she is much bigger now. When I first started feeling her movements they were very sporadic and I would only feel her when she kicked or made big movements. Now I can feel her stretching, moving around, having hiccups, and squirming around in there. Occasionally, she will take it upon herself to have a little dance party inside my belly. It is quite humorous to feel her movements and even Michael likes joining in on the fun.

Funny story : Michael and I were at the grocery store last week getting some bacon for BLT's (one of our favorites). A lady at the store was handing out animal cracker samples. I don't think English was her first language. When she saw us she tried to get Michael to try the crackers, but he passed on her offer. And then she tried to get my attention by saying "And your lady...the one with the big stomach!" I mean, I know my belly has grown but it's because of a BABY! I thought it was funny, even if she did remind me of the size of my "stomach".

I am continuing to feel good overall. Some days I feel like I could join a dance company as I feel very energetic. Other days, I find myself lazying around and wanting to do nothing but sleep. I guess it's all a part of the process. I will be glad to rid myself of some minor back pains I've been having. I've realized how gaining weight really isn't good on the back, legs and joints. A good reminder to live a healthy lifestyle and keep my weight at a good level. I know this is temporary, so that makes it more manageable. I'd hate to have to live with this constantly!

Today we have a big appointment at the birth center. Since I am Rh negative I will be getting a shot (spear in the rear!). After lunch today I will also have to start fasting for two hours so that I can drink the syrup for the glucose test. It's a routine test, but I've heard horror stories about how bad it makes some people feel. I'm just hoping it won't be too bad.

Baby Girl's room is still our office/guest room. We have been working at coming up with a plan for re-arranging of furniture so that we can make room for a crib (eventually) and dresser for Baby Girl. It's exciting to plan for her arrival. Next week I will be traveling to Fresno to hang out with my parents for a couple days. My mom and I will be shopping around for the other baby essentials - stroller, car seat and looking at baby things in general.

With each week that goes by it is becoming more and more real that we are having a BABY! I'm sure it will not compare to that moment when we are handed our beautiful baby for the very first time - what joy! However, I am glad that we still have 11 more weeks to prepare for her arrival. There is much to do yet! And mostly, Baby Girl needs to grow and get strong! Next month we will also be taking some child birthing classes and a breastfeeding class. I am looking forward to learning more about what will possibly be happening in the next months.

I would not trade being pregnant for anything right now. It is proving to be a wonderful experience. Well, worth the minor aches and pains that I have had. These next weeks will be full of fun trips to visit family, a wedding, and possibly a couple family vacations in late June if the midwife OKs them.

We will see how all goes at the birth center today with the midwife. After this visit, we will start going every other week and as the due date nears, we will start going once a week. The countdown begins! Less than 80 days are left!

You are glowing! I can't wait to meet Baby Girl!!! Keep taking the pictures! You will notice how your belly changes even in the last weeks...oh, the movements, they are the neatest for sure! Have fun shopping and do enjoy each minute of being pregnant! The Lord does give us this period of time for our "batteries" to be charged and ready to be used for ever! This Sunday is sure a special day for you! Motherhood is the most rewarding position to hold! Praying for you, Michael and Baby Girl! :)
