Six Months Ago...

HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY, ELENA!

Dearest Little Elena,

It was three months ago when I wrote you your last letter and now here we are celebrating your first six months with us. You just got up from your nap a little while ago and we were sitting on my bed playing around and I kept thinking about how privileged we are that you are a part of our lives. You have definitely made our lives better because you are here with us!

To celebrate your six months here are some of the things that I want to remember about you:

You love to stick anything in your mouth.

I love it when you stick your tongue out and lick your mouth after eating

You can sit up now...almost! Every once in a while you topple over but you're getting better at it.

You can roll from your back to your tummy. We have yet to see you roll from your tummy to your back!

You have a certain "I'm tired" cry and you kind of say "mamamama"

You sleep on your tummy all the time now - its your favorite way!

No teeth yet!

You have just enough hair to put in a clip. You've got new hair coming in, though.

You laugh when you're tired.

You sleep in the top left corner of your crib - always! No matter where I put you, that's where you always end up.

You love splashing around during bath time.

You hate having clothes pulled over your head when getting dressed.

And you don't like it when I pick your nose - silly girl!

You sleep through church most Sundays.

You have big feet for a little girl your age! (sorry, it's the truth!)

You can now sleep through the night without eating until about 6:30 or 7:00.

Your face lights up when daddy gets home from work.

You love jumping in your Johnny Jumper, playing in your exersaucer, sitting on your own and
playing with your toys.

You suck your thumb when falling asleep.

You're still drinking just milk but we might feed you some cereal soon!

You now cry if we take something away that you want.

You have lots of friends at church that like to hold you.

We play a game together in which I try to get you to look at me and you always look away and smile as if you know what's going on. You're a stinker but I love you!

You'll be getting more shots pretty soon. You did so well the first time.

When you're playing very intently with something you stick your tongue out and it's pretty cute.

My dearest Elena Mae, the list could go on. Every day with you is more and more fun. Keep smiling and keep giving us slobbery kisses.

Love you,

Your Mama

P.S. As you can tell, I had a hard time taking pictures of you today, Elena. You kept getting distracted by everything outside and I couldn't even get you to smile!
