Blossom Trail

Last weekend we headed up to the Central Valley to see my parents. Well, we all know that is only partially true. It was basically so Elena and her grandparents could see each other. Seeing Michael and me is just a side bonus! Elena seems to be the real attraction these days. Just earlier this week at the grocery store we had several people stop us to talk to Elena. She can now wave (when she wants to) but seemingly never wants to do it when people are talking to or waving at her. One man walked by and said, "Pretty Girl!" For a moment I thought he was talking to me but then I realized it was all for Elena. Such is my life!

Oh, and Elena can also give a high five. It's pretty cute and I didn't even try to teach her! She just started waving and high fiving on her own. Kids do get cute and cuter as they grow up!

Back to our trip to see Grandpa and Grandma. We stopped and spent the night in a hotel along the way. As is our tradition now, we snapped a few pics of Elena on the hotel bed. Darling!

On all fours getting ready to crawl!

This is her "I-really-really-want-that" look

Look who we found tucked away in the bed!

On Saturday all five of us piled into our car and traveled the Blossom Trail for a little outing. It turned out to be quite the day because while in the car I noticed that her first tooth was coming through! Little did I know then but now there are two teeth coming through on the bottom. They are not quite in all the way but they're coming in a little more each day.

Elena was not herself that day but we did manage to get a few cute pictures of her in the blossoms.

We tried to take a family picture but none turned out. Elena's face on this one is priceless! Do you think she wants to be placed in a different family?

Elena's getting quite good at sitting up on her own now so we placed her in the middle of the field of trees and Michael snapped away. Notice the flower discovering/eating progression in these pictures!

Now that Elena has teeth I guess she figures its really time to start eating the solids. We tried rice cereal about a month ago but she didn't really seem interested. I am going to try some veggies later this week to see how that goes!

Thanks, family, for the wonderful time with you!

Tessa's bottom teeth came through at the same time, too. Oh, the pictures are soooo good! What a curious little darling she is! She looks like she is going to crawl any time! How special to get to have family trips!!!
