A few weeks ago when we were visiting family we had an early birthday celebration for Elena since lots of the women in our family were in the same area. We had a Ladies Only celebration. Well, a few gentlemen were allowed. They just happened to be two handsome little boys. They are Elena's 2nd cousins so they had to be invited! By the way, thanks for coming Devin and Nathan!
Elena had a great time being with all the wonderful women in our family - aunts, cousins, grandmas. Each one has a special place in Elena's life.
Elena was not too fond of the birthday hat but I have yet to meet a kid that likes to have hats put on their head.
We had a nice lunch together and got to catch up on each others lives since we don't all get to see each other that often. And of course, at the conclusion of the meal we had the birthday cupcakes for the special girl. She wasn't quite sure what to make of all the attention and that candle on the cupcake. She tried touching it several times, not understanding us as we told her to "blow"!
And now we wait in eager anticipation for Sunday and our 1st birthday celebration with Miss Elena!
