Well, that WAS Happy Birthday to me. We've been gone the last few weeks visiting family. Before we left I celebrated my birthday. As usual, I was treated royally on the special day by those near and far. It is always special to hear a "Happy Birthday" from those that care about you!
My birthday has changed a bit now that I'm a mom. Elena didn't even acknowledge that it was a special day in my life! Oh well...I know if she understood she would give me a big hug and blow me a kiss (we are working on this skill).
For lunch I was treated to a wonderful lunch at Olive Garden by the ladies in the family. We had a great time catching up and keeping our darling daughters from getting too crazy. Grace and Elena go CRAZY when they are around each other. They are attracted to eat other like two magnets - they just stick together. They giggle, smile and are just plain old cute around each other.
Picture proof:
Grace loves helping Elena do things - drink from her bottle, get changed, etc. Today she was helping Elena walk. She's getting closer to walking on her own but not quite there yet - the ability is there but not necessary the will!
Right before we took these following pictures I got a wonderful birthday call from Maria (Michael's sister) who has been in Spain the last few weeks. What a great surprise! We passed around the phone and talked to Maria a bit to see what she's been up to.
Elena wasn't doing a very good job at smiling at the camera so we decided to take a picture in which we all looked off in a new direction. And what did little Miss Elena do? She looked AT the camera while the rest of us looked away. Dear me!
That afternoon I received Elena's gift - naptime! She took a nice long nap and I did, too! Never before was a nap considered such a wonderful gift! That evening I was once again treated wonderfully and got to eat some delicious Chinese food and then for cheesecake.
Thanks to everyone that helped make my birthday special. I enjoyed reading each card, message and getting your phone calls. Its wonderful to be pampered on special days!
