Dinner for Nine

It's been a busy week, full of birthday celebrations for our sister, Maria. On Monday night we attempted to turn our house into "Restaurant Le Marie" and ate to our hearts content. In recent months, we have started watching the TV show "Top Chef". I never was much into "foofy" cooking myself, but watching Top Chef has turned us into food connoisseur wannabes. In honor or Maria's birthday, each member of our family was in charge of a part of the meal - everyone contributed something! We had all been talking about it for weeks and the big day finally rolled around last Monday.

It was such a fun day and birthday celebration! As always, pictures are worth a thousand words so I'll leave you with some pictures. Happy 17th, Maria!

The table is set, the food is cooking.

Flowers for the birthday girl...

...and a special place to sit.

The appetizer

A light, refreshing cucumber soup

A delicious different spin on a Wedge Salad

The main course

And the birthday girl's ever-so-famous "Holy Cannoli Cake"

Opening some presents

All the ladies together...

...and then a picture with the guys.

We love you, Maria!

How fun! Oh, and the food looks so yummy!:)I watched a lot of the food channel episodes while in St. Vincent and enjoyed each minute of it...food is so fun to make:) The better the presentation and the more fun you have making the food, the better it tastes:)

Have a lovely day, Bella!:)
