It had been a while since we had made the trip up to see my parents so it was time. On Friday night we went to my grandparent's house and had dinner together and talked the evening a way. We also had a chance to share some of our Victoria, B.C. pictures with them (they are here if you haven't seen them yet! I am so blessed to have wonderful grandparents on both sides. I lived with my grandparents for a summer when I was in college and I am so glad I did. I have many fond memories of the time I spent with them.
Driving up to the Valley on the six hour trip gave us some time to do plenty of music listening, reading and catching up on what's been going on. Our church reads through a different book of the Bible each month and this month we are reading through Exodus. I love reading those Sunday School Bible stories as an adult because they really are quite awesome and exciting. As we read I was once again struck by the idea of "generations" and how one generation passes down things to the next. My grandparents have done a great job at passing down a Godly heritage to our parents and then on to us. I am so thankful for a family that knows God!
I had fun walking around Old Town Clovis. I know my mom did, too! Michael did also. But my dad, well, this is where we found him every time we came out of the store!
We had quite the nice morning and topped it off with lunch at Me 'n' Eds. Delicious! Here are a few pics of our time together...
I am blessed. We are blessed. Blessed to have a wonderful family - on both sides! Blessed to know the Lord and His goodness. Amen?!?!?

Yes,I agree with you! It is such a blessing to have godly parents and grandparents and a big family who knows and follows the Lord! When David and I were at Lake Siskiyou this summer, I was so touched to once again be reminded of each of the members in the Big Bridges family and their love for the Lord:)
I actually just read through Exodus this morning for one of the Bible studies that I am doing, and have learned from Exodus 20 about the generational bondage, about godly jealousy and ungodly jealousy...the Word of God is always fresh and no matter how many time we read one verse, one paragraph, one chapter, each time it applies to us in a different way, as His Word is alive!
So glad that you had a safe trip up to Central Valley and had such a nice and special time with the family:) I miss California, especially because of all the people:)
Ann,
A family with a history of faith is such an amazing blessing! I was thinking about that in my own life just recentally. This morning as I was reading Psalm 145:13, I was praising God for making Himself known throughout the generations. "Your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is faith to his promises and loving toward all he's made. An amzing promise!
