Baby Bell Pepper - 18 Weeks And Counting!

Yesterday we took a little walk and we ended up going to one of our favorite places - a bookstore! We rarely buy anything, but it's so peaceful and relaxing to be there and to peruse the shelves full of books. Usually, I end up in the home decor section or the crafts, but today I ended up in the "Childhood" section. My, how things are changing! There were a few books that I have heard people talk about and I wanted to look at them and see what they were all about. I probably won't buy them, but checking them out from the library is always a great option. Usually, if I like a book after that I might buy it.

It's fun to think about little Sea Monkey and to envision our lives together after July! Everyone tells me that nothing will prepare me for what is coming so I am just going to take it a day at a time. Yesterday, while at the bookstore, I decided I want to make my own version of a "baby book" - complete with our thoughts about Sea Monkey, pictures and of course, details about the little one's life once he/she makes an appearance. I looked at so many baby books yesterday and didn't really like any of them so I guess I'll just have to make one myself! Any ideas about what to include? I think I'll have to pull out my baby book to see what kinds of things might be interesting.

Valentine's Day was a very special day for us as it is when I started to feel Sea Monkey kicking for the first time. I think I might have felt it the day before, but on the 14th I was pretty certain of what I was feeling. What a great Valentine's Day gift, Lord! I was reminded once again that the life inside of me is alive and in many ways, we feel a new connection. I can tell Michael is a little jealous that he can't feel anything. I guess we'll just have to wait for Sea Monkey to grow a little more so Michael can feel the kicking too. Definitely one of the pluses of being the mommy!

As you can tell by the title, Sea Monkey is now the size of a bell pepper - or something like that. About five and half inches. I measured that and Sea Monkey would fit perfectly in the palm of my hand. Even though we're dying to meet Sea Monkey, we're glad that he/she can stay in the womb a little longer.

I have a lot better compared to the first trimester, as is to be expected. Some days a nap is still a necessity, but I seem to have regained a little energy and motivation. I had a "pregnancy moment" the other day when I completely forgot my pin number at the grocery store. I tried different numbers frantically and nothing worked. After a couple days it came back to me, but i was funny, nevertheless, to be faced with the pregnancy forgetfulness. I have noticed that my food aversions seems to have calmed down a little and now I can enjoy most anything. I haven't had any weird cravings yet - I am just enjoying being able to eat! My appetite has picked up a little, too.

Well, Sea Monkey, we love you lots and think of you often. We pray every day that Sea Monkey will grow up to love God and His Word - that is our biggest desire as everything else we would wish for our child is secondary. Thank you, Father, for our little one!
