Visit to the Zoo

My wonderful parents came to visit last weekend. It's not a common occurrence around here because they live far away and its hard for them to get away on the weekends. So, we are always grateful when they can come visit us (we'll be visiting them soon again!). They joined in some of our activities and we also went to some special places with them.

On Saturday we decided to go to the world famous San Diego Zoo. To me, a zoo is a zoo but I must say the San Diego Zoo is a pretty nice one! We have passes so we can go anytime and walk around. We also had some free guest passes for my parents so our entertainment for the morning was "free"! We invited my friend Kristie to come along and join us as she pretty much has the cutest little newborn girl around here!

We had a great deal of fun walking around from animal to animal. We've been to the zoo a few times and this time Elena definitely was much more interested in the animals and in her surroundings.

"You're not going to make me look at those monkeys picking bugs off of each other ever again, are you?"

"Ahh, that's better!"

And of course, you have to have the customary pictures of Elena and yours truly popping their heads through the giraffe San Diego Zoo sign.
