Elena at Play

*I am re-posting this. I had to re-upload some of the videos so that they'd fit in the format of my new design. Thanks!

With last weeks record rainfall, this week we had to get out of the house a bit more. I was feeling bad for Elena since all we could do was spend the days at home. This week Elena also passed an important milestone - she celebrated her 18 month birthday. Now we officially have a one and a half year old here at home. She's closer to two now than she is to one! We often comment that Elena is no longer a baby. She is a full on toddler now - a kid! Now if we ask Elena how old she is she will say "two". I always remind her to not get ahead of herself. She is still one!

Overall, Elena is a pretty good kid. But we've noticed that she's been exerting a bit more of her will lately. Our friend Janet calls them the "terrific two's". We're being presented daily with many opportunities to teach Elena that there is a different way to act than what you feel like. It's been interesting to see her figure things out and learn about being more kind and gentle. This parenting thing is definitely a learning experience for us, too!

Every Monday we have a park day with some of the other kids and moms from church. At first Elena was a little insecure about going up the stairs and down the slide but now she loves the playground.

And we also met up with Elena's cousin Grace for a little play time at the mall and lunch. These girls are so funny together.

And lastly, a few more videos from the last few weeks...
