Grapefruit Memories

I was about to dig into a juicy grapefruit today when a flood of memories overcame me. I'm sure you all have those things in your life, smells, experiences that remind you of a place or someone, right?

The moment I took one look at that grapefruit I immediately started thinking of my grandparents. You see, I lived with them for a few summers, and they had a grapefruit tree (do you still have it, Grandpa and Grandma?) It was not uncommon to have a side of grapefruit for breakfast on any given day.

I love my grandparents and am so glad for them. I bet my Grandpa will be writing his weekly letter to the family within the next couple hours. We get a letter from him every week, updating us on all the family happenings.

For that and for many other reasons (one of them being grapefruits), I give thanks for such Godly grandparents and wonderful people like them in my life!

I too have a fond memory when it comes to grapefruit! It is the only fruit that my mom likes and she can eat without having her stomach be bothered...so when I think, when I see, when I taste a piece of grapefruit, I thank Jesus for my mama:)
